Team Context

Usual’s tech team, led by Ender (VPE), is around 10 people strong and divided into protocol and dApp development teams. This role sits within the dApp team, which is committed to delivering a streamlined, user-centric Web3 experience that’s accessible to all. The dApp team is full-stack, including a full-stack lead, backend developer, full-stack developer, and front-end developer. This role focuses on design integration, setting hirer Web3 UX standards inspired by fintech to make Web3 accessible to a broader audience.

Role Overview

We’re seeking a skilled front-end developer focused on design integration. The primary responsibility will be translating Figma designs into pixel-perfect, interactive React components while using Usual's front-end stack. This role emphasizes precise UI reproduction, ensuring all components are fully functional and follow design prototypes, even when these are incomplete. The ideal candidate is an independent and detail-oriented developer who takes pride in delivering user-friendly, high-quality interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Integration: Translate Figma designs into fully interactive, responsive React components using Next.js, TypeScript, and TailwindCSS.
  • Component Creation: Build reusable UI components with shadcn/ui, Radix UI, and Headless UI as foundational libraries.
  • Animation Implementation: Use Lottie and Rive to bring animations into the UI, ensuring smooth, high-quality transitions and interactivity.
  • Prototype Completion: Extend incomplete design prototypes into fully interactive, operational components within the codebase.
  • Interactivity: Ensure basic interactivity for components (e.g., modals, dropdowns) while leaving the business logic and data fetching out of scope for this role.
  • Code Handover: Collaborate with downstream team members (e.g., backend developers) by delivering clean, modular code that can be easily connected to the business logic layer.

Required Competencies

Hard Skills

  • Front-End Development: Proficient in Next.js (React) and TypeScript, with a strong grasp of component-based architecture.
  • UI Libraries: Skilled in TailwindCSS, shadcn/ui, Radix UI, and Headless UI to ensure cohesive and efficient component integration.
  • Animation Tools: Experience with Lottie and Rive to create engaging, smooth animations.
  • Prototyping and Interactivity: Proven ability to replicate Figma designs, including interactive elements like modals and basic animations, within the constraints provided.
  • Responsive Design: Strong understanding of responsive web design principles to ensure a seamless experience across devices.

Soft Skills

  • Attention to Detail: High standard for pixel-perfect designs and consistency with Figma layouts.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Strong communication skills, open to working closely with design and backend teams to ensure smooth handovers.
  • Independence & Proactivity: Capable of independently executing tasks with precision, while seeking clarity when needed to complete prototypes and interactions.
  • User-Centric Approach: Committed to creating a front-end that’s as accessible and intuitive as traditional fintech interfaces.
