Who we are

šŸ“Œ Interchain Inc (formerly, Skip) leads development for the Cosmos Hub, ecosystem, and stack -- the leading platform for building sovereign, interoperable blockchains. We're dedicated to offering developers full-stack programmability, complete ownership of their economics, and best-in-class distribution to users everywhere.

Our mission is to build a more free, more fair internet with the Cosmos platform at the core. The best teams already build with Cosmos across every category: defi (dYdX, Osmosis, Injective), infrastructure (Babylon, Celestia, Initia),Ā Depin/AI (Akash, Artificial Superintelligence Alliance, Allora), privacy (Nillion, Penumbra), and many more. We want to help these teams and many more help bring the values of sovereignty and decentralization to the rest of the internet by developing the Cosmos stack and hub.Ā

We focus on hiring the core team and senior talent to work together in person in NYC to build a collaborative and supportive culture. But weā€™re still open to hiring best-in-class remote talent anywhere within 6 hours of the NYC timezone.

Core team member responsibilities

  1. Work to solve hard technical problems at the cutting edge of blockchain research alongside the founders.
  2. Be empowered to make bold technical and strategic decisions.
  3. Play a critical role in determining the people we hire, our culture, our engineering practices, and the products we ship.

How we work

  1. We valueĀ ambition, work ethic, andĀ mĀ (slope)Ā over prestige, accomplishments, and y-intercept.
  2. We valueĀ thoughtful and contentious dialogueĀ over siloed and unilateral decision-making.
  3. We valueĀ acknowledging uncertainty/weakness and seeking supportĀ over unabated confidence and solo performances.
  4. Weā€™re obsessive aboutĀ documenting everything, learning, and shipping as fast as possible with short feedback cycles.Ā

Description

Weā€™re looking for an Intermediate to Senior DevOps Engineer / SRE who will help our engineers scale our products and developer productivity significantly.

Our ideal candidate cares and thinks deeply about every aspect of the systems they build, but is also pragmatic about getting the job done. They should be deeply product-oriented and think about our engineering team as her customers (the Skip engineers). They should put the same level of care into customer support (e.g. education, documentation, answering questions) that they put into writing useful automations. Additionally, theyā€™re a great communicator and can easily explain why the tools they build are useful and how to use them.

Role

  • Design and own the pipelines that automate building, testing, and deployment of Skipā€™s cloud infrastructure
  • Work closely with internal teams to develop automated testing and deployment pipelines for services that power Skipā€™s products
  • Maintain and improve Skipā€™s internal developer platform
  • Develop and manage monitoring and alerting systems to ensure Skipā€™s infrastructure meets availability requirements
  • Contribute to high-level strategic and technical decisions regarding the product roadmap, tech stack, and engineering practices

Qualifications

Required

  • 4 years+ experience orchestrating and managing production cloud infrastructure and pipelines
  • Expertise working with Unix/Linux systems from kernel to shell and beyond
  • Ability to lead and own feature development end-to-end
  • Fluency with at least one of the standard orchestration platforms (Kubernetes or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to build automated testing and deployment pipelines with modern tooling (e.g. Github Actions or similar)
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tooling (e.g. Terraform or similar)
  • Experience with at least one common programming language (e.g. Go / Python)

Bonus

  • Understanding of or experience with crypto/blockchain infrastructure
  • Prior experience with common observability stacks (e.g. DataDog, Grafana LGTM, etc.)
  • Experience with Linux and cloud networking
  • Basic understanding of asymmetric key cryptography
