We believe that zero knowledge proofs will form the foundation of the next generation of Internet scalability and privacy. IronMill is a venture-backed Web3 startup that is building tooling to operationalize and simplify the deployment of zero knowledge proofs - we call this zkOps. We're building a unique hardware-software hybrid layer for optimized zk deployment. IronMill is founded by experienced entrepreneurs and is a member of the Stanford University Blockchain Accelerator. IronMill’s technical founder holds a PhD in EE from Stanford and co-teaches Stanford’s CEE 246A Blockchain Entrepreneurship seminar.

Job Description

While zero knowledge proofs and blockchains leverage relatively new mathematical tools, practical implementation of these systems requires extensive Web2 infrastructure and hardware. This role will focus on building user-facing functionality for our zkOps tooling.

At IronMill, we emphasize an agile workflow, with continuous constructive feedback from customers, industry experts, and members of the Web3 ecosystem. Therefore, our software development tends to follow a rapid cycle of build – demo – receive feedback – iterate. This role is ideal for a candidate who wants to learn from the Web3 community and build the next generation of developer tooling.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Building developer-friendly user interfaces and APIs on a variety of platforms
• Contributing to product features that reach beyond the UX, including into our unique hardware-software backend and other infrastructure
• Producing code that is well written, maintainable, security conscious, and performant.
• Align software feature development with customer priorities
• Offering thoughts / feedback on the direction of our product and prioritization of feature implementation
• Collaborating with domain experts in Web2, Web3, and zero knowledge both across internal teams and with external partners
• Be curious and self-motivated

Qualifications

• 4+ years of full stack experience in any set of languages and tools, preferably Web3-native
• Experience with TypeScript in at least one production project
• Examples of code that you have written or contributed to, ideally on a Github repository (open source code contributions encouraged and welcomed)
• A passion for blockchain and web3
• Interest in zero knowledge proofs
• Interest in high performance computing
• (Optional) Experience with Kubernetes or another compute orchestration tool
• (Optional) Experience with large-scale cloud software deployments
