Community Moderator

Mission

NEAR has the reputation of creating and nurturing a warm, welcoming and inclusive community. Community Moderators usually act as the first touch point to the NEAR ecosystem and play a vital role in ensuring that the NEAR community is thriving and healthy by offering a safe and inclusive space online.

In the next 12 months, we want them to moderate channels, engage with the community, convey community feedback to the NEAR Foundation, and constantly improve the overall experience for the NEAR community across online channels. With time, we want them to develop trust and relationship with the community. 

Outcomes

1. Provide 24/7 coverage on Telegram, Discord, Forum & Reddit
2. Maximize retention and reduce churn
3. Maintaining and improving engagement
4. Channel NPS surveys/SOCI/CSAT scores
5. Building a sense of community(SOCI) and facilitating the process of people helping each other.
6. Constantly find new ways to refine and improve community experience
7. Relay feedback from the community to the NEAR Foundation

Competencies

Flowing out from the mission and outcomes, competencies articulate how we expect this person to operate in achieving the goals.

1. Familiarity with platforms like Telegram/Discord/Discourse/Reddit and tools that can be used to manage them efficiently
2. Producing reports on relevant moderation statistics, issues and outcomes
3. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, and a proactive approach
4. Excellent writing and communication skills in English 
5. Strong understanding of Web3 terms and technology
6. Great knowledge of online communities and cool under pressure
7. Not required, but nice to have: ability to read and write in multiple languages
